The benefits of being freelance is that I can take Annabelle (the bike of course) out for pootle whenever I can. Today was a quiet day, and to beat the Monday blues, I decided to see whether going through the Two Tunnels would be a scary experience. I’m pleased to report that I felt very safe, which is probably due to the route being used by runners, dog walkers, and fellow cyclists.
It was a peaceful and friendly journey – I got advice about turning off to Monkton Coombe, where apparently there’s a new pub to take respite in. The peace came from the quietness of the tunnels and the soothing music that is played about halfway along the longer Coombe Down tunnel.
I’m looking forward to taking a trip to the pub in Monkton Coombe. Would anyone like to join me one evening?
